English Programs

Equilibrium School provides English language assessments based on the Canadian Language Benchmark scale/guidelines.

The Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) are the national standards used in Canada for describing, measuring, and recognizing the English language proficiency of adult immigrants and prospective immigrants for living and working in Canada.

The CLB provide a descriptive scale of communicative proficiency in English as an Additional Language, expressed as benchmarks or reference points. They cover four skill areas: reading, writing, speaking, and listening, and use real life language tasks to measure language skills.

Equilibrium will provide the following:

• book a test within 24 hours of your initial phone call
• provide a written summary of the results within a 24 hour period
• provide additional recommendations for the student outlining their learning strategies and options.

The scale of benchmarks is from pre-benchmark, the lowest, to 12, the highest.
