Equilibrium Introduction to QuickBooks

This program runs on a continuous intake basis and can be started each Monday.

Course Description:
Developing a strong understanding of accounting fundamentals is more important than ever, whether to succeed in a management position or gain the fundamental skills to start your bookkeeping or accounting career. This course introduces participants to QuickBooks, a popular integrated accounting package for small- and medium-sized businesses.

The course takes the participants through the whole accounting cycle from setting up a business in QuickBooks, creating accounts, customer and vendor lists, accounts payable and accounts receivable, through data entry corrections and bank reconciliation, to financial statement preparation and analysis. Additionally, participants develop business acumen to understand how good bookkeeping and accounting contribute to all areas of the business. Participants will obtain practical knowledge of accounting processes, including income statements and balance sheets, accounts receivable and accounts payable, fixed assets and depreciation. Participants will develop and apply their computer skills using spreadsheets and accounting software to reconcile accounts and record a wide variety of journal entries related to full-cycle accounting.
