Scholarship Recipients

Nathan is a business student who is majoring in accounting at the University of Alberta. He was born and raised in Calgary and has been a part of Equilibrium’s office administration team since the summer of 2023.

Nathan believes deeply in the idea of paying it forward and strives to apply this principle in all aspects of his personal and professional lives. This is reflected in the multiple activities Nathan has participated in to make our communities better and more inclusive. As a business student, Nathan has worked on projects aiming to address homelessness in Edmonton which reflects his desire to encourage a collectively positive view of everyone. In addition, he often volunteers to play piano in seniors’ homes and has volunteered with Samaritan’s Purse on multiple occasions. However, he is most proud of his experiences within the Grassroots Mentorship Program in which he was given the opportunity to mentor new referees and give them valuable feedback to improve their skills. He looks forward to applying all of those experiences as he continues his business studies.

Outside of his academic life, Nathan has a passion for exercise and outdoor activities. He enjoys spending time in the gym and has been playing hockey for the past eight years. Recently, he has also delved into the worlds of hiking, rock climbing, and golf.
