Ara began volunteering at Equilibrium in the summer of 2025, assisting with both EAL and computer classes through in-person and Zoom classes. Throughout his time at Equilibrium, he has connected with students of all backgrounds to support their learning and make each classroom environment welcoming and inclusive.

Ara is currently in his third year of studying biological sciences at the University of Calgary. Inspired by a lifelong desire to improve the health and well-being of others, he hopes to attend medical school and become a physician. His goal is to serve his community and provide care to those in need so they can live a healthier, happier, and longer life.

Although his family is originally from Iran, Ara was born in Calgary and spent much of his childhood in Texas and British Columbia before returning to Calgary.

Beyond Equilibrium, Ara enjoys giving back to his community through volunteering in several roles throughout his community. He has worked as a physiotherapy assistant, tutored students in various academic subjects, participated in leadership programs, and coached youth soccer. When he is not studying or volunteering, he spends time lifting weights at the gym and hiking.
