Am I Eligible?

The funding you will receive at Equilibrium is provided by the Alberta government through the Skills Investment Program. To be eligible for funding, you must lack the necessary skills to access sustainable employment and do have the financial resources to obtain training. Select from a category below to find out if you qualify:

You must have exhausted all possible resources to provide for your own training (e.g. spouse's income, support from your parents, savings, etc.)

You must be 18 years or older (in most cases) and out of the regular school system for 12 consecutive months prior to starting.

You must be an Alberta resident. This is defined as:

  • Independent and a resident of Alberta for 3 months prior to the start date of training
  • SFI (social assistance) recipient
  • Dependent and parents live in Alberta

Must be:

  • Refugee with 'Notice of Decision' and a Student Authorization, or;
  • Landed immigrant, or;
  • Canadian citizen

The client must be:

  • Unemployed, or;
  • Marginally employed (worked less than an average of 20 hours/week for the past year and unable to support your family on obtainable income).

The client must have a clear, definable and realistic employment goal.
