Mathematics This sequence of courses is designed for students intending to pursue post-secondary studies at university or in a math intensive program at a technical school or college. Pure Mathematics 10/20/30 emphasizes the theoretical development of topics from the areas of algebra, geometry, trigonometry and statistics up to a level acceptable for entry into universities and other post-secondary institutions. Upon the successful completion of Math 30, students will have fulfilled the mathematics component required for the Advanced High School Diploma. Pure Math 10 - 5 Credits Pure Mathematics 10 is the first in the Pure Mathematics 10 – 20 – 30 series and students will study data analysis, measurements, 3-D objects and 2-D shapes, patterns, variables and equations and relations and functions. Pure Math 20 - 5 Credits Pure Mathematics 20 follows Pure Mathematics 10 and focuses on applying principles of mathematics reasoning to solve problems, patterns, variables and equations, and relations and functions. Pure Math 30 - 5 Credits Pure Mathematics 30 follows in the Pure Mathematics 10 – 20 – 30 series and concentrates on chance and uncertainty, transformation, patterns, variables and equations, and relations and functions. Math 31 - 5 Credits
Math 31 concentrates on Precalculus; Limits; Derivatives; Trigonometry; Curve Sketching and Exponential and Logarithmic Functions. |
