French

In the French 10/20/30 program, students will develop oral and written communication skills, grammatical competence and cultural awareness through interesting theme based projects. Computer-assisted language learning activities enhance the program. All French classes are 65 hours in length.

French 10 - 5 Credits

Follows French 13 (or French 9 of the 6-year French Program). It is based on a communicative approach, in which all four communicative skills (reading, writing, listening, and speaking) are stressed. Themes include School, Employment, Family and Friends, Recreation, and Travel.

French 20 - 5 Credits

Follows French 10. It requires listening and reading comprehension of varying difficulties, showing oral and written understanding, a further study of French grammar and the study of the French culture.

French 30 - 5 Credits

Follows French 20. It concentrates on listening and reading comprehension, communication, grammar and the further study of French culture.
