During this part of the program, students will learn exam taking skills and strategies which are necessary for success on the IELTS, engage themselves in simulated practice IELTS examinations, and develop the skills and abilities that Academic IELTS examination tests to achieve desirable band scores of 6 or higher.
Mid-way through part ONE of the program, students from non-English backgrounds will be registered to take the actual IELTS examination and will write the actual IELTS examination shortly after the completion of part one.
Part two of the program will focus on developing and enhancing other skills and abilities needed for success in post-secondary studies. These skills and abilities include: academic writing (including proper referencing and citing of academic materials), academic reading comprehension, effective study habits, academic research skills, presentations, critical thinking, and time management. These concepts represent crucial skills and abilities that are expected of any student who wishes to enjoy success in post-secondary studies.
